
INDIGO Biofeedback Session
Indigo Biofeedback is a noninvasive, generally very re-laxing experience
If you are receiving your session at our location (remote or distance sessions are also very successful and can be experienced in the comfort of your home! See the tab “ REMOTE SESSION ” for details), you will sit comfortably with bands placed gently around your wrists, ankles, and forehead, while the Indigo does the work!
In the first part of the session, some questions are asked which help the device present its results in a clear manner. These are general questions about your history and lifestyle. The Indigo then calibrates exclusively to you and performs the initial program which calculates your reactions to the many potential stressors. Automatically the information received by this initial scan goes into hundreds of programs and we begin to see what your physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual needs are at this time. As we work through the various areas in our session, you may feel nothing at all or you may experience various sensations or emotions. It is quite common for emotions to flow without actual “reasons”. This is the work moving through you! You may experience subtle changes over the following several days, as your system is changing. The Indigo is designed to prevent overload, so adverse reactions are very rare. However, cleansing toxicity or traumas may cause some minor physical or emotional discomforts.
During an INDIGO Biofeedback session, the biofeedback practitioner is also able to educate the client as to what specific areas of the body / mind are most in need of stress reduction and re-education based on the information translated from the biofeedback device to the computer screen. While the biofeedback process is completely non-invasive and gentle, this powerful stress management support system allows relaxation and increased ability for the body to heal.
The body is designed to heal itself! The process of biofeedback
is not to heal - but to help the body remember the balanced
and stress free state. When it is entrained to the healthier
patterns of a relaxed state, this process of self-regeneration
often happens naturally.
How many sessions are needed?
Biofeedback is an entrainment process. Entrainment is a well studied phenomenon within physics, by which two separate systems, operating at varying frequencies, will settle into a common frequency when situated within one’s field of influence. It may take the body multiple sessions to entrain or “relearn”healthier patterns. Some people respond very quickly, especially those whose lifestyle choices are already aligned with good health.
Others may need more education, training and support around improving nutrition, exercise and / or sleep patterns, or avoiding addictive substances etc. Generally speaking, the longer a client has held certain stress patterns which are causing them pain or illness, the more sessions they may need to begin re-balancing or re-training those patterns and reactions.
After your biofeedback experience, we will discuss what we have worked on and some possible lifestyle changes. It is also recommended that you consume water before and after your session.
With children who are too young or are not able to sit still or tolerate the bands, they may sit or lie on a mat which is connected to the device. They may play with non-electrical toys on the floor or in the chair. Parents often stay with small children to help them remain occupied and peaceful. Infants and small children may also sit in a parent’s lap, on the pad.
Animal sessions are sometimes done in the office and can be done at the home or barn. With small animals the headband is often used around the neck or middle, depending on the size of the animal. Larger animals, like horses, require a safe restrictive place so that the headband may be attached in some manner without damage to the device (usually in the adjoining stall). In the case of animals with more wild behaviors, they can be worked on in subspace, or remotely. Several practitioners have worked with feral cats, helping them to become adoptable. Animals usually respond very well to the Indigo, recognizing the energy almost immediately as peaceful and positive. They are generally very passive and often fall asleep. Results are often very clear and relatively fast.
Remember – This work is about RETRAINING your system’s responses to stress. You did not arrive at the place you are now (physically, mentally, or emotionally) in a flash! Like any other “habit”, we are working to replace your system’s response to stress with different behaviors – and this takes time. Even though you will likely feel some changes after the first session or two, for lasting effects and changes in your life, we recommend clients make a commitment to their health by investing in multiple sessions in order to truly see and feel the results.
